MACD & Co. is a degree show of the two-year master course at Central Saint Martins in 2017. As a lead designer, my role was to build the concept of the show in discussions with the colleagues and to design & art direct the elements that include the gallery space, promotional graphics, merchandise, videos and a website by collaborating with four members of the design team to thoroughly visualise the message.
The core idea is to visualise the class as a collective of individual designers by using the cliche of graphic designers’ uniforms which is stripes. When you wear it on your own, it looks neat and organised. However, once all of the class wear it, it becomes lively and radical as the students stimulate each other through the learning process in the course together.
